Believe it or not, this is not a bug! We have balanced the game in such a way that some Unlocks will give boosts to a different business on various planets, destinations and events. For example, reaching 2300 Newspapers on Earth actually gives your Donut Shops a boost. Similarily, in the Excellent AdVenture event, when you reach 27 Bubonic Mouse Traps, your Pirateship Out Boards get a profit boost of x1.1.
